Douglas Haynes, a longtime bivocational pastor, died Feb. 2. He was 82.
A native of Mobile, Haynes attended Howard College (now Samford University). He served as a bivocational pastor for years in Randolph and Cleburne counties as he worked a career with the U.S. Postal Service. He also served as an interim and supply pastor for years after his retirement. The churches he served included Chulafinnee Baptist and Pine Grove Baptist, both in Heflin, and Ethelsville Baptist.
Haynes is survived by his wife of 54 years, Colley; daughter, Donna; son, Daniel; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
