Susie Hobson. Ventura, Calif.: Nordskog Publishing, 2010. 120 pp. (Hardback).
Susie Hobson, a member of Lakeview Baptist Church, Montgomery, wrote this book as a result of conviction inspired by reading in her Bible about the greatest commandment and realizing she did not love God the way she should.
That conviction evolved into a burden for helping others love God, and eventually into a book designed to help others understand why and how to fulfill the commandment to love God with all of our hearts, souls and minds.
The book is a short and easy read, with simple and practical advice. It moves along nicely until the next-to-last chapter, when Hobson shares her personal testimony.
The book becomes riveting as the author relates a story of supernatural visitation and the wise guidance of a pastor who has since become a state denominational leader.
The author’s personal testimony sheds an entirely different light on the rest of the book; instead of platitudes from a church lady, the book becomes a testimony to the truth, active in the world and in the life of the author.
