Madison Association church marks 125th anniversary

Harvest Baptist Church’s sanctuary was filled to capacity for its homecoming celebration Sept. 12. The service was special, as it marked the 125th anniversary of the Madison Baptist Association church.

Former Pastor Arris Cavender presented the message, and former church members were invited to lead the congregation in worship.

Marie Woodfin of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission was on hand to present the church with a plaque of recognition for its many years of work.

Following the service and presentation, the congregation enjoyed a luncheon in the fellowship hall.

Of course, Senior Pastor Eric Fuller does not want the congregation to simply be content with the work that has already taken place.

“While it is important to take time to remember and celebrate the rich history of our church, it is more important to stay focused on our task as a church and to constantly look toward the future and do what we can to be Kingdom builders,” Fuller said.
