MOGADISHU, Somalia — A drug addict whose life transformed when he recently put his faith in Jesus has been shunned by his parents and rendered homeless.
According to Christian Daily International-Morning Star News, the 20-year-old man put faith in Jesus on April 20 after an underground Somali pastor spent the day with him explaining about God and the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

The convert quickly left his addiction and decided to return to his Muslim parents, who live in the Lower Juba region of Somalia. He had not seen his parents in months, the pastor said.
The man rejoined his parents on May 17.
“The parents watched him for two days, and on May 19 they started interrogating him,” the pastor told the news outlet. “They asked him to explain … how he left the drugs as they wondered about the changes seen in his life.”
When the man said his transformation came from putting faith in Jesus, his father told him to leave and never return, the man said.
As of the May 27 report, the man was homeless, and the underground pastor was working to secure accommodations for him within a Christian cell group.
