Marshall, Murdaugh, Raley provide specialized leadership for ministry

Three new directors provide specialized leadership for Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes & Family Ministries.

Rod Marshall, Ed.S., LPC, NCC, RPT, is director of counseling after serving five years as a licensed
professional counselor and clinical director with the Children’s Homes. He now oversees the staffs and
operations of a statewide network of 16 professional counseling sites.

Marshall is a doctoral candidate of Mississippi State University. He holds graduate level degrees in agency counseling and counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and an undergraduate degree in human relations and religion from Samford University. Marshall has state and national certifications as a counseling supervisor and is a registered play therapist by the Association for Play Therapy.

Bob Murdaugh is director of communications for the Children’s Homes after almost three and a half years as communications specialist with Alabama Women’s Missionary Union. He directs design and coordination of print and broadcast projects to increase public awareness and understanding of the Children’s Homes’ services and programs statewide.

Murdaugh holds a master of arts degree in communications from Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. His undergraduate degree in journalism is from Auburn University. He has over 15 years of hands-on experience in journalism, photography, public relations and graphic design.

Cecilia Lee Raley, M.S., LPC, is area director for the Children’s Homes in southeastern Alabama. She replaces James Kingry, who retired Dec. 31, 1999. A licensed professional counselor with the Children’s Homes since 1998, Raley now oversees the total ministry and program in the Dothan area to achieve the Children’s Homes mission statement: “To protect, nurture, and restore children and families through Christ-centered services.”

A candidate for a doctor of education degree in counseling and certification in school psychology from Auburn University, Raley holds a master of science degree in school psychometry from Troy State
University in Dothan and a bachelor of science degree in speech therapy from the University of Montevallo. She is certified in administration and supervision, as well as school psychology.
