If you’re not familiar with the Grammy Award-winning duo of sisters Erica and Tina Campbell known as Mary Mary, then you’re missing out. “The Sound,” their latest record, is a start-to-finish joy. It sounds like Motown, Amy Winehouse, electronica. It sounds like Michael Jackson. It sounds like Journey. It sounds like the Winans. You can dance to it. You can worship to it. Music this good — so catchy, so well produced — exposes the triteness of labels and even the very concept of genres. They call it “urban gospel,” but they need to be quiet because the music is playing.
