McElwain Church, Birmingham, The Gathering

McElwain Church, Birmingham, will host Birmingham Association’s annual event “The Gathering” on Oct. 5, 5 p.m. The theme is “Establishing and Strengthening Relationships.” Daven Watkins, pastor of First Church, Pleasant Grove, will speak. Joe Estes, minister of music and worship for First Church, Trussville, will lead in worship. Children will enjoy a special worship service that will run simultaneously with the adult worship service. There will be inflatables, games, popcorn, cotton candy and lemonade. This is a free family event for the whole community. Fred Johns is interim pastor.
