Trophy of Grace
Traditional/Horizon
If you were to take a poll and list all of the favorite family groups southern gospel music has encountered during its long history, surely the McKameys would be right up there in the highest of high.
And it’s no wonder. With their down-to-earth personalities and genuine Christian lives, not to mention an endless supply of anointed songs that speak straight to the heart, the McKameys don’t really have fans around the country — they have thousands and thousands and thousands of friends.
And that’s why each new Mc-
Kameys recording is met with eager anticipation. Such is the case with their latest, “Trophy of Grace.” Over the past few months, southern gospel radio has readily programmed the first single release, “Surely Goodness and the Mercies of the Lord,” and already it has found a home at the top of the charts. The next radio song, “A Trophy of Grace,” should easily follow its predecessor as it is one of the strongest songs on this Horizon recording. Ruben, Peg, Carol and Connie are all at their best on these songs, as well as the rest. “You Never Mentioned Him to Me” — a song that everyone should hear, especially Ruben’s recitation. If this piece doesn’t pull on the heart strings, you’ve got some real problems.
If you have not bought your copy, do it today. This recording will minister to you for years to come.
