Soul Business
Traditional/Sonlite
Over the past few years, southern gospel music has seen a proliferation of truly great new traditional male quartets come into our industry.
Without doubt, one of the best of the bunch can be found in Mended Wings.
This is a real quartet, harmony plus.
These guys can sing toe-to-toe with any quartet.
Each of the four parts is exceptionally strong and the blend is extraordinary.
This new recording of Mended Wings is just as exceptional as the Quarter.
The album is arguably one of those rare perfect 10 recordings with each song being a perfect 10. Those not already familiar with the group are in for a real treat. You may have never heard Mended Wings in person or on a recording, but this reviewer will guarantee when you hear these 10 songs, you will be a Mended Wings fan for life.
The recording is loaded with powerful songs that were penned by such master writers as Phil Cross, Kyla Rowland, David Patillo and Elmer Cole. In addition, Phil Cross also produced this project.
Even the musicians appearing on this recording are the best.
You’ll hear Jeff Collins (piano), Tony Creasman (percussion), Roger Fortner (guitars), David Johnson (steel, mandolin, harmonica, fiddle, acoustic guitar and dobro) and orchestrations by Michael Smith.
Since all the songs on this recording are so strong and any of them could be number one, we will not pick specific songs because they are all winners.
The album’s highlights are “An Everlasting Song,” “Lean on the Lord,” “Heavenly Honey” and “Righteous Right Hand.
The list continues with “Count Me In,” “God’s Gonna Move,” “Every Time I Fall,” “The Highest Hill,” “He Did it All for Me” and “Soul Business.”
If you are a true fan of southern gospel quartets, don’t miss the blessing of owning and enjoying this one-of-a-kind recording.
