The greatest thing anyone can do for God and man is pray. We want to thank you for being those people who take time to pray for us and for the poor of Caracas. Here are recent prayer requests:

New missionaries Engles and Bethunes coming into Venezuela.

A new church planting team from a local Baptist church.

A testimony from a new believer about her nephew, Jesus, who was shot.

We are now working in five different barrios in Petare. At times it is difficult juggling the responsibilities of scheduling and implementing ministries in so many different places. But the Lord has been faithful to provide both workers and the strength to carry out tasks.

Enough Bible study leaders to meet the needs of the increasing number of new studies. In the month of May we hope to have at least 10 new studies.

I want to share about our monthly women’s meeting. There were 12 women who attended.

Linda, who comes to Latvia for short periods of time with her husband (he teaches at the Riga Bible Institute), wrote down my address incorrectly, thus she got lost and arrived about 45 minutes late. She had given my address to a doctor who was supposed to come also, and she never showed up. Linda has gotten back in contact with her explaining the mix-up.

However, we did have a good group. The neighbor whom I met last week came, and one of the mothers of the youth was back.

This time I used the story of the Good Samaritan, and we talked about being a good neighbor and how our love for God is demonstrated in the way we treat others. I urged them to consider a neighbor is anyone we come in contact with and not just the people who live near us.

The group is bonding. I used the “bloom where you are planted” phrase to continue our theme, and we decorate flower pots.

Thanks for being faithful to pray for these women. Each month we are giving them an opportunity to hear about the Lord and consider He has a plan for their lives.
