Morgan, Eloise

Morgan, Eloise

Eloise Morgan is someone you should know. For the past 13 years, she has traveled throughout Jefferson County to minister to shut-ins and hospitalized church members. She and her Sunday School class take these people gifts on their birthdays and homemade crafts at Christmastime.

Q: Why have you done this activity?

A: God laid it on my heart and the heart of my Sunday School class to do a ministry among our shut-in members. We felt like in this age we need to minister to our senior adults throughout the year. We do not want them to be forgotten in our church. They were faithful and we too should be faithful in our ministry.

Q: What does it demand?

A: The only demand is that if you love the Lord you’ll want to do this. It requires time and energy, and He supplies our needs.

Q: What do you get from it?

A: The joy of knowing these precious people who have been an inspiration through the years in our church who are no longer able to be active.

Q: How do other family members support you?
A: I have the full support of my husband who most of the time is just as involved as I am.

Q: How do you see yourself involved in this ministry in the future?

A: As long as the Lord blesses me with my health and strength I will be found doing this as long as possible.

Q: What different will this ministry make for you in the future?

A: We have just had a part in making someone very happy who may have been lonely or fulfilled a need in their life that helped me to grow as a Christian. It’s all my privilege to do it. It’s never work; it’s always a pleasure. I pray that we have represented our Lord Jesus Christ in a manner that He would be pleased with.
