Mount Zion Baptist Church, Alexander City, celebrated its 175th anniversary Oct. 19. Steve Lucy, a former youth minister, was the guest preacher, and special music was provided by Tru Faith Quartet. A commemorative plaque was presented to the church by Calvin Milford, a commissioner of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission, with O.C. Harrison, minister of music, accepting the honor on behalf of the church. A fellowship meal was served following the service.
