If Hillsong isn’t contemporary enough for you Planetshakers may be your thing. It’s upbeat worship music with lots (and lots) of keyboard and percussion (and a little techno). And it’s marvelous. (At least, my 7-year-old son and I think so.) This Christian worship band is based out of Planetshakers Church in Melbourne, Australia, and has released more than 30 LPs and EPs. For upbeat tunes try “Only Way” and “My Reason.” Yes there are a few slow-tempo songs too. It was recorded live. (Michael Foust)
