There is no denying that Natalie Grant has an incredible voice. As a vocalist, she continues to impress listeners as she finds new channels of expressiveness and clarity. Grant’s third release, “Deeper Life,” showcases her flexibility and diversity as an artist seeking to find her true voice.

At first listening to the album, “Deeper Life” might seem like a cookie-cutter Christian pop album.

It’s obviously a well-produced album. Many of the melodies and production effects are comparable to those of acts like Avalon and Point of Grace. But what begins to separate Grant from her peers is the translucent quality of her singing. There are moments at which her voice carries so much emotion that it seems as if you are peering into her very soul. This is most evident in the song “I Desire” which Grant co-wrote with husband Bernie Herms and singer/songwriter Cindy Morgan.
