Baptist Health System (BHS), based in Birmingham, has named David C. Wilson as president of Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster. Wilson will assume his new post Feb. 20.
“David brings 17 years of experience in hospital administration and a history of running hospitals that achieve top-rated patient satisfaction,” said Mark Bryan, BHS senior vice president and COO. “I would also like to thank Shelby’s chief operating officer Scott Williams for his leadership … as interim president … during this search.”
Wilson comes to Shelby Baptist from Saint Francis Hospital — Bartlett in Bartlett, Tenn., where he served as chief executive officer. He has also served as chief executive officer at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma, Tenn., and Medical Center of Manchester in Manchester, Tenn.
He received his master of science in health administration, graduating with honors from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1989. He earned bachelor’s degrees in zoology and biology from the University of Tennessee. (BHS)
