The Samford University board of trustees recently elected three new trustees.
Joe C. Godfrey of Pleasant Grove is senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Pleasant Grove, in Birmingham Baptist Association. Godfrey is also a former president of the Alabama Baptist State Convention (ABSC). Albert P. Brewer of Birmingham is a former Alabama governor and retired professor of law and government at Samford’s Cumberland School of Law. Pete M. Hanna of Birmingham is chairman and CEO of Hanna Steel Corp.
The three were affirmed by the ABSC during its annual meeting in November 2006 and elected during the Dec. 5, 2006 meeting of the Samford board of trustees. William J. Stevens of Birmingham was re-elected chairman.
