New Web site focuses on associations

Woman’s Missionary Union announces the launch of DirectorofMissions.com, an interactive Web site designed to communicate with directors of missions, associational staff and other missions-minded leaders.

M. Steve Heartsill, design editor for WMU’s Dimension magazine and churchwide resources, said, “This new Web site is a great communication tool that provides missions resources and information to associational leaders as they involve their people in the mission of God. We are confident that as directors of missions and associational leaders visit this site often, they will soon consider it their primary missions resource.”

The goal of DirectorofMissions.com is to assist associational leaders as they work with missions leaders in local churches. The Web site is the result of market research, focus group studies WMU conducted in 2002, and interviews with various directors of missions from across the country.

Heartsill said that associational leaders can expect to find regularly updated information that includes news releases, schedules and news regarding missions experiences through WMU’s Volunteer Connection and other event information, associational links, reviews of current leadership and ministry books, highlights of new missions resources, articles on relevant topics and much more.

“DirectorofMissions.com is designed to be very user-friendly,” said John-Mark Taylor, webmaster for WMU. “Along with links to each section of the site, there is also a site map that offers brief descriptions of each section.”
