There’s little to say about Newsboys that hasn’t been said before. And yet “Houston We Are Go,” a live recording of pop-rock classics from the latter three-fourths of the revolving-member Australian supergroup’s 20-year recording career, sums it up in about an hour and 15 minutes: This band has been and continues to be something special. Kicking off with the incredible Steve Taylor-penned “Shine,” arguably their best song (and one of the top 100 songs in contemporary Christian music history according to CCM Magazine), and ending with an 11-minute testimony from founder Peter Furler, fans should find “Houston We Are Go” fantastic.
