Every Bible at Noah Baptist Church, Centre, had a commemorative bookmark in it at the close of the church’s 75th anniversary service Sept. 11 — a gift intended to help church members remember where they have been and where they are headed.
As part of the anniversary celebration, guest speaker Douglas New, who grew up in the church and served as a pastor in Georgia, brought the message. One Touch Quartet, a southern gospel group from Cartersville, Georgia, provided special music.
And Wendell Dutton, director of missions for Cherokee Baptist Association, presented the church with a plaque on behalf of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission.
Jeff Chambers is pastor of Noah Baptist.
