Mateo Melendez is the new associate pastor and student minister for North Shelby Church, Birmingham. He comes from Chilhowee Hills Church, Knoxville, Tenn., where he was student minister. Melendez and his wife, Cherene, have four children. Allan Murphy is pastor.
