Oak Grove Baptist in Jemison celebrates 100th anniversary

Oak Grove Baptist Church, Jemison, celebrated its 100th anniversary Sept. 18. David Hand, pastor, gave the message with special music by Courtney Cupp. Congregational music was led by Michael Brasher.

Shirley Emfinger presented the history of the church focusing on the founder, W.H. Homer Faulkner. Ralph Foster of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission presented a certificate.

“It is important to celebrate,” Emfinger said. “We need to celebrate. It was a blessing to see people interested during the presentation of the church history.”
