After 14 years, Robert Taylor has retired as pastor of Ocmulgee Baptist Church, Selma, in Cahaba Baptist Association. The church marked Taylor’s last Sunday in the pulpit Jan. 28 with a special tribute to him and his wife, Pat, during the morning service. It also presented him with a love offering and held a reception in his honor that afternoon.
This was Taylor’s second time to serve the Ocmulgee Baptist congregation — his first was during the 1970s. During his 40 years in the ministry, he has served several other churches in Alabama, North Carolina and Missouri.
Although Taylor retired from full-time ministry, he will be available for pulpit supply work. He and his wife will be moving to Baldwin County and are looking forward to traveling and visiting with their two children and their families.
