Liberty Baptist Church, Opelika, dedicated its regular morning service May 24 to the observance of Memorial Day. After the morning service the congregation gathered at the church’s cemetery for a remembrance of war veterans who are buried there. The ceremony included the laying of a red, white and blue wreath at the grave of Joel M. Bohannon, World War I veteran who was killed in action in France on Oct. 16, 1918. David Chappell was guest speaker at the Memorial Day service. Pictured here are veterans (l to r): John Thomas, Randy LeCroy and Gene Bearden.
