Johnnie Wood is the new pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Deatsville. Wood has served in other pastoral roles and started a ministry born out of his love turkey hunting and Jesus.

July 14, Bethel Baptist Church, Banks, celebrated their bicentennial and homecoming. The service included special music and the presentation of a plaque from the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission.
