Palmetto State Quartet

Palmetto State Quartet

It’s Settled
Sonlite Records

The traditional male quartet is alive and well in the form of Palmetto State Quartet. Their debut project from Sonlite Records is filled with the classic sounds of great southern gospel music, polished with fresh arrangements, produced by Jeff Collins and the group’s pianist, Andrew Ishee. Although the recording has wonderful instrumentation, the style of this project is such that if they wanted to do the entire concert with just the piano, they could, and they’d sound remarkably like the Statesmen doing it. If you haven’t heard this group recently, you really owe it to yourself to pick up the disk.

“Knock, Knock, Knock” begins the CD in exciting fashion. This single is making its way up the radio charts, and it’s one that you will have to push the repeat button on, because it’s too much fun to listen to only once.

“Hold On” is a great song of encouragement and is followed by “As for Me and My House” and “That’s Enough,” the Roger Horne classic. “I’d Rather Be Praisin’” is another toe-tapper that will leave you wanting more of it. “Oh That Wonderful Promise” is a Kyla Rowland song, which usually translates into Kyla Rowland hit song. “I’m on My Way,” “We’ll Meet Again,” “I Love the City,” “On Time God” and “He’ll Settle It All” round out this 11-song project full of energy and great gospel quartet singing.
