Technicolor
Integrity
Great news if you’ve bought this record: like the Aussies, the Kiwis have a knack for praise and worship. Parachute Band culls the best of New Zealand’s healthy praise-and-worship scene, pumps it full of hipster essentials — synthesizers and “oh, oh, ohs” — and re-serves it catchier than ever. The result is a poppy, modern-rock buffet doused with the Word. The opening track “Come to the River” is straight up Fall Out Boy. The next song, “Shout it Out,” is straight up Kings of Leon. “Technicolor” is a straight-up good record.
