Chris Bonts is the new pastor of Parkway Church, Auburn. He comes from CrossRoad Church, Floyds Knobs, Ind., a church he planted in conjunction with the Nehemiah Project of the North American Mission Board. He has also served several churches in Alabama and Florida. A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Bonts holds a bachelor’s degree in theology from the Baptist College of Florida in Graceville, an advanced master of divinity in missions, evangelism and church growth from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Ky., and is currently a candidate for a doctor of philosophy in evangelism and church growth with an emphasis in systematic theology from Southern Seminary. He and his wife, Marcie, have two children.
