Q: What was your childhood like?
A: I had a good childhood. I remember going to church more than anything else. My parents were Christians.
Q: How did you come to know God?
A: I knew all the time (about Jesus) because I was in church. I was 9 when I accepted Christ at a church revival. I remember the choir was singing “Jesus Is Tenderly Calling.”
Q: How were you involved in church through the years?
A: I taught Baptist Young People’s Union, which was a Discipleship Training class. I was involved with Woman’s Missionary Union, and I also liked to sing in the choir.
Q: What have you enjoyed about teaching Sunday School?
A: I was so shocked when they asked me to teach; they wouldn’t take no for an answer. I accepted and thank the Lord that I did because my Sunday School classes have been a blessing to me. I thank God every day for the blessing I have received from teaching.
Q: How do you see yourself involved in church in the future?
A: My Sunday School class won’t let me stop. They tell me, “If you retire, we are going to go to your house.”
Q: What difference has being a Christian made in your life?
A: It means everything. I wouldn’t want to live a minute without it. I know God is protecting me and watching over me all the time.
