Pastor Jack House retires from Flatwoods Baptist

Thirty-four years ago, salesman Jack House had a lot. But he had also been running from God and God had caught him. "I wound up in a motel on Monday morning and told the Lord, ‘Here I am,’" House said. "There’s a lot of things I may doubt, but I don’t doubt my call."

Now 68, House continues to follow God’s call through leading revivals and Bible conferences after his March 25 retirement from the pastorate of Flatwoods Baptist Church, Gordo, in Pickens Baptist Association.

House, who received his bachelor’s degree from Samford University in Birmingham and a master’s degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, served six churches in Alabama and one in Pascagoula, Miss.

Mulga Baptist Church in Birmingham Baptist Association was the first pastorate for the Reform native. "I’ve had a good ministry, a fulfilling ministry as a pastor," House said. "I’m looking forward to going to different churches and sharing the Word of God with them."
