In addition to serving as a Sunday School teacher and women’s ministry mentor, Vicki Perry has taught children for eight years. She was also the associational GA director in Baldwin County for two years.
Q: Why do you work with children?
A: I like teaching kids, and I like to give them a healthy Christian environment, a foundation that they can always have with them throughout their lives.
Q: What does the ministry demand?
A: It takes a lot of time. The most demanding part is staying one step ahead of the children.
Q: What do you get from it?
A: Blessing over blessing and a reminder that I need to grow in the Word every day. I need to make sure my money is where my mouth is.
Q: What led you to teach?
A: My love for children and to watch them grow. God put me here.
Q: How do other family members support you?
A: They support me with their prayers, love and understanding.
Q: How do you see yourself involved in this in the future?
A: I hope that I can teach as long as God allows me to teach and to know when it’s time for me to move on the something else.
Q: What difference will teaching children make for you in the future?
A: I think the best thing it would leave me with is the lasting impression that I’m never too old to learn and God shows me new things every day.
