The State Board of Missions (SBOM) is cautioning churches against being misled by a business that is not church related.
Jim Swedenburg, associate in leadercare/church administration with the SBOM, said several churches have received notices from the “Alabama Poster Compliance Center” regarding employment posters for display in churches.
While the notices arrive in what he described as “an official looking envelope,” Swedenburg noted the “Alabama Poster Compliance Center” is not a government agency. He said the return address is 7956 Vaughn No. 387, Montgomery, AL 36116, which is the forwarding address for MailBoxes Etc.
He said churches do not have to purchase the posters-most of which are available free through his office. (TAB)
