A series of events in the life of Rachael Lampa has given her a new outlook on life. She has seen the way God works through all circumstances for the good of those who love Him. This new perspective is reflected on her sophomore album, “Kaleidoscope.” It is articulated in the song “Brand New Life,” in which Lampa sings, “Thank you for my brand new life/ My days are colored by a lasting hope/ It’s like I’m looking through a kaleidoscope.”

“Kaleidoscope” also marks a new musical direction for Lampa. Though the album contains its share of powerful ballads, it is characterized more by an urban pop sound. This new sound was largely influenced by Lampa’s personal contributions to the album. She shares writing credits on five songs while weaving her own identity into the other songs on the album.

Rachael Lampa is an extremely gifted singer who continues to grow as an artist. She is beginning to come into her own as a songwriter.

If “Kaleidoscope” gives us any indication of what we may expect from Rachael Lampa in the future, there is much to look forward to.
