David Cofield has retired as pastor of Rainsville First Baptist Church, serving more than nine years.
He began 46 years of full-time pastoral ministry at the age of 18 as pastor of Sardis Baptist Church, Boaz, and has served churches in Alabama, Georgia and Louisiana. He served for more than 20 years as a professor and director for New Orleans Seminary.
He is a graduate of Snead State Junior College, Samford University and New Orleans Seminary. He and his wife, Roxanne, have two grown sons and seven grandchildren. The couple plans to remain in Rainsville.
