The Solid Rock
Traditional/Ambur
It’s been said that if you ever hear the Reggie Sadder Family, you’ll be a fan for life.
Rest assured that is a completely accurate statement.
“The Solid Rock” is the latest recording effort by this Vale, N.C., family and is highlighted by some super singing, great arrangements and pure southern gospel music.
The project gets off to a classy start with the peppy “City Not Made With Hands” and then heads off into the southern gospel standard “What Sins Are You Talking About?”
Industry experts agree that Brock Speer would surely be satisfied with this cut.
Next is the catchy Reggie Saddler-penned “Goin’ Fishin.”
Following that, listeners will thrill to a McCray Dove song that sounds like it was custom tailored for the family, “Whatever it Takes.”
Tremendous advice is found in the timely “About Face, America,” and then the group presents a song guaranteed to moisten the eyes, “Passing Through (The Old Saints Song).”
Reggie ministers with “The Solid Rock,” and then he and the ladies resurrect an old Singing Americans classic “Sail on Over.”
Making up the final third of the recording are wonderful performances of “In the Morning,” “He Heard it All” (a great story in this song!) and “Go Where They Are,” a fine a cappella rendition of “The Lord’s Prayer.”
If you’ve never had the opportunity to visit with the Reggie Saddler Family, you’re missing a big blessing.
You see, it’s also been said that if you ever meet this family, you’ll be a friend for life.
And that, my friends, is something you can count on.
