Reid, Shirley Ann

Shirley Ann Reid, wife of Pastor Sammie Reid of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Corner, in North Jefferson Baptist Association, died Oct. 11. She was 64.

A native of Warrior, Reid ministered alongside her husband at Mount Zion Baptist for the past 24 years. Her main roles were working with senior adults and teaching Sunday School.

She also served as secretary for North Jefferson Association from 2003 until earlier this year.

“People like Shirley don’t come around very often,” said Steve Loggins, director of missions for the association. “She was a tireless worker for the Lord and the Lord’s Kingdom through her family, her church and her association. She was dedicated to her work and to the Lord’s work.”

Reid is survived by her husband of 47 years, two children and five grandchildren. (TAB)
