Friends of retired missionary Bill Cowley celebrated his 90th birthday Feb. 20 with a drive-through birthday party at his home in Vestavia Hills.
Cowley and his wife, Audrey — who died in December 2020 — served in Nigeria as missionary educators during the time of a horrific genocide, risking their lives to help the Nigerians they served.
Cowley is a longtime member of Shades Crest Baptist Church, Bluff Park.
