Alabama Baptist retired pastor Bobby Rone died Nov. 14 at age 69.
The Birmingham resident was a native of Mobile County.
A longtime minister in Alabama, he had retired from Springhill Avenue Baptist Church, Mobile, in 2001.
During his many years of ministry he also served as pastor of Millry Baptist Church, Millry; First Baptist Church, St. Stephens; First Baptist Church, East Brewton; Shadowlawn Baptist Church, Eight Mile; and Alco Baptist Church, Brewton.
He also served as pastor of Baptist churches in the Florida pan handle.
Rone, a graduate of the University of Mobile and Florida Baptist Theological Seminary (now the Baptist College of Florida), Graceville, Fla., was affiliated with Lafitte Baptist Church, Saraland, where his funeral was held.
A former law enforcement officer, Rone also served as chaplain with the Alabama State Troopers for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline, three children and three grandchildren.
