It sounds real for a reason. “Miracle,” the third label release from Robbie Seay Band, is a collection of songs composed (except for the cover of Jon Foreman’s popular “Your Love Is Strong”) and recorded over 10 months that succeeds in capturing the everyday humanity within the congregation of Ecclesia, the Houston church Seay serves as worship leader. “Lament” was written after a member’s son was shot and killed; the incredible title-track “Miracle” in the wake of the news that a friend had cancer. Musically, the band focuses more on the rock side of the thriving “worship rock” genre, and it works. It sounds real.
