Roswell Creek Baptist Church, Blountsville, celebrated its 125th anniversary Sept. 19 with a day of remembrance.
Church clerk O.C. Townson read a brief history of the Blount Baptist Association church and longtime members shared stories. Pastor George Knott presented the message.
Following the service, the congregation enjoyed a meal in the fellowship hall.
As for the church’s future, Townson said, “We hope to grow in grace and membership [while] doing the will of the Lord in our hearts and lives and being obedient.”
Roswell Creek Baptist was established Sept. 16, 1885, by trustees from Old Warrior Missionary Baptist Church to eliminate traveling long distances to attend worship services.
