Longtime Samford University faculty members Jim Angel and Elizabeth Wells received top university awards at the school’s opening convocation of the spring semester Jan. 31.
Angel, a professor in the Orlean Bullard Beeson School of Education and Professional Studies, received the George Macon Memorial Award for outstanding performance as a teacher and counselor who as a friend to students shows the ability to inspire them to greatness.
Wells, special collections librarian and university archivist, received the Jennings Marshall Service Award for significant and sustained service contributions to the university.
