Samford to host Legacy League gala event

Samford to host Legacy League gala event

For the first time, the Scholarship Gala Celebration of Legacy League, an auxiliary of Samford University in Birmingham, will be held on Samford’s campus in the Leslie S. Wright Fine Arts Center.

The gala event, which will be May 8 at 6:30 p.m., will combine a culinary feast with a show by Christian illusionist Curt Anderson.

Anderson began performing at age 7 and has performed across the U.S. and six countries, gaining the respect of both the Society of American Magicians and the International Brotherhood of Magicians. He also has been endorsed by Josh McDowell.

Known for making a Lamborghini vanish, Anderson has pledged that the gala show will include an illusion never before seen in Birmingham.

The vision of Legacy League is to make a difference in the lives of students through need-based scholarships. In recent years, scholarship recipients have come from families facing extraordinary challenges.

Reservations are required for the event and can be made at www.samford.edu/legacyleague through May 2. For more information, call 205-726-2247.  (Legacy League)
