Samford University leaders present Danny Wood with scholarship

Samford University leaders presented Danny Wood senior pastor of Shades Mountain Baptist Church, Birmingham, with a scholarship named in his honor  — The Danny Wood Social Entrepreneurship Scholarship.

The $42,000 check was presented May 11 during Wood’s last Power Lunch, a monthly business leader’s lunch held for the last 24 years.

Wood is retiring later this year.
