Several years ago my church was in the midst of a project to expand the Sunday School space, using volunteers to finish the youth ministry floor to save costs.

The young athlete flashed a wide smile and replied, “First of all, all honor, glory and praise to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” 

Wow. I couldn’t believe it. It was right there in front of me in clear black and white text. I read it several times to make sure I wasn’t misunderstanding. Yet I still found it hard to believe.

I recently was asked to preach at one of our area Baptist churches. I worked hard on the sermon and was convinced it was going to be great.
