R. Kent Hughes. Wheaton, Ill.: Crossway Books, 2003. 176 pp. (Paperback).

While God’s desire is that the church be different from the world in order to reach the world, evangelical Christianity is becoming increasingly worldly. In fact, as the author shows, materialism, hedonism, violence, sexual misconduct, pluralism and divorce are as common within the church as they are outside the church.

Hughes builds a case for godliness in the church, a case much like the biblical call to holiness.
