NEW YORK — Seventeen magazine, a longtime national magazine for teenage girls, has initiated a section on faith in its monthly editorial content. The section features interviews with Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists and Hindus. While many of the entries won’t resonate with Christians, some may find that it at least reveals a spiritual thirst among young people.
The section is the brainchild of Seventeen’s editor-in-chief, Atoosa Rubenstein. She said the section has immediately become a favorite among Seventeen magazine’s 14 million readers.
“We talk to a big portion of the young women of this country, and this is what they’re interested in, and no one else is talking to them about it,” Rubenstein said. “I think that kids today want and need answers, because they live in a very complicated world.”
