Shades Mountain Baptist Church, Vestavia Hills, in Birmingham Baptist Association is holding its Global Impact Celebration Feb. 28–March 4. Each day features a different event for participants to meet visiting missionaries and hear about their ministries, both international and in the United States.
The conference began Feb. 28 with a missionary booth expo and a parade of flags, followed by a message from Donald J. Wilton, pastor of First Baptist Church, Spartanburg, S.C.
Other highlights of the conference include a concert March 2 at 7 p.m. with Selah, five-time Dove Award winners, and special guest John Thomas of Living Hope Community Centre in South Africa. The missionary booth expo will also be open.
During the 9:30 a.m. worship service March 4, Ergun Caner, president of Liberty Theological Seminary at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., will speak, and Ken Whitten, pastor of Idlewild Baptist Church, Lutz, Fla., near Tampa, will lead the conference’s closing session at 6 p.m. For more information, visit www.shades.org and go to "Global Ministries" or call 205-822-1670.
