An upcoming health expo at Shades Mountain Baptist Church, Vestavia Hills, will offer opportunities for all ages to get health tips and have health screenings.
Healthy Living for Every Generation will educate attendees about practical ways to live and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The annual event will be Jan. 9 in the fellowship hall, Christian Life Center and worship center from 2–8 p.m.
More than 80 vendors will provide information on subjects such as nutrition, weight control, herbal and nutritional supplements, disease prevention and cardiovascular fitness.
In addition, there will be three miniseminars. Dr. Richard Allman, director of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Center for Aging, will speak on the topic, “Does going to town keep you healthy?” Jim Angel, professor in the exercise science and sports medicine department at Samford University in Birmingham, will speak on the expo’s theme, and Dr. Kennedy Kunz of Trinity Medical Center in Birmingham will address managing hypertension.
