The reason Shane & Shane’s seventh studio album sounds like it was recorded live is because it was — in a sense. Rather than record each instrument or vocal tracks individually, microphones were set up in the studio for what — for all intents and purposes — was a live performance without an audience.
The result is a sound that captures, perhaps better than previous releases, not only the trademark harmonies but the genuine passion the veterans of the Christian college/coffeehouse circuit try to bring to Sunday mornings as joint worship leaders of their Dallas church. Recommended for fans of Bebo Norman, The David Crowder Band and Caedmon’s Call.
