Retired Southern Baptist missionary Robert C. Sherer, of Birmingham, died Aug. 14. He was 90.
Sherer graduated from Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Shawnee, Kan., in 1944 and a few years later, began his 32-year career serving as a missionary in Japan.
He returned from the missions field in 1984 and joined Mountain Brook Baptist Church in Birmingham Baptist Association.
Sherer was preceded in death by wife Helen, one daughter and one granddaughter.
He is survived by one son, two daughters, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. (TAB)
