Twenty-three volunteers from Southside Baptist Church, Southside, in Etowah Baptist Association participated in its second medical and dental missions trip to Honduras March 25–April 1.
The medical personnel included dentists, nurses, pharmacists and a doctor. Others served in support roles or did construction. The group worked with the Mississippi Medical/Dental Mission. They held clinics for three days and cared for more than 1,800 people, gave out 1,300 pairs of glasses and pulled more than 400 teeth.
Members of Southside Baptist have traveled to Honduras for seven years.
The team also held backyard Bible clubs and distributed Bibles. At the end of the week, there were 158 professions of faith and approximately 30 rededications.
